DIAGNOSTIC MULTIPLE CONNECTOR - Description
The car is equipped with numerous self-diagnostic electronic control units.
When a tester (Examiner or other instrument) is connected to the control units, self-diagnostic data can be read (parameters, errors) or active
testing can be carried out.
This car is not fitted with a specific tester connection for each control unit. Instead, a single standard 16-way tester connection is located on
the left hand side of the facia, above the junction unit.
The tester (Examiner or other instruments) is connected to this (via an adaptor) and the software is then used to select the required self-
diagnostic function.
The multiple diagnostic connector meets EEC F3 EOBD requirements.

DIAGNOSTIC MULTIPLE CONNECTOR - Functional description
The tester connection R10 is supplied, at pin 16, directly by the battery (maxifuse CENTR of B5 ), via fuse F17 of junction unit B1 .
Pins 4 and 5 are earthed.
Pin 1 is connected to the ABS control unit M50, pin 11, (
See
E7020 ABS ).
Pin 3 is connected to Air Bag control unit M60, pin 9, for system with side bags, pin 3 for the basic system (
See
E7030 AIRBAG ).
Pin 11 is connected to alarm control unit M30 - pin 6 of connector A - and remote control receiver M35 - pin 2, (
See
E7015 ALARM ).
Pin 8 is connected to Code control unit M20, pin 5, (
See
E7010 CODE ).
Pin 7 is connected to engine management control unit M10 via a dedicated line.
Pin 9 is connected via a single line to numerous control units and electronic devices:
to instrument panel E50 : pin 1 of connector C (3309717SeeE4010INSTRUMENT PANEL);
to electronic Check device M45 : pin 11 of connector C;
to ICS Display E60 - pin 1 of connector B: this collects - in a single test channel - diagnostic information on display E60, and also
information on control unit M70 - pin 13 of connector C ( See E6020 AIR CONDITIONING ) and navigator control unit M90;
to xenon headlamps control unit M87 : pin 11.
Pin 15 is connected to electronic check device M45.
Pin 12, only on 2.4 JTD 6M version, is connected to the additional heater control unit M75 at pin 2, connector A.
