There is, of course, no legitimate branch of science that enables us to predict the future accurately. Yet the degree of change in the world is so overwhelming and so promising that the future, I believe, is far brighter than anyone has contemplated since the end of the Second World War.Assignment: Is the world changing for the better? Plan and write an essay in which you develop your point of view on this issue. Support your position with reasoning and examples taken from your reading, studies, experience, or observations.The world is changing every day in every moment and we participate in this process. The qustion is about the effects of this changes. They are good or bad? Are we able to judge this changes? How we, as human beings, can estimate this? The answer needs couple of conclusions and reflections.At the begining, we should ask ourselves whether a change in general is good. Many people have aversion to the changes, especially old people. They feel comfortable when they live as they lived before, when everything is like the old times. This is the part of the society which has negative attitude to the changes and they almost always will say that the world is changing for the worse. In their opinion when something is new, it is bad - just because it is new. But sometimes changes are necessary.For example, when something is already bad: a situation or a thing, you need to change this. Demolition of Berlin Wall chenged the world for the better. On the other hand colonization was in my opinion example of bad changes. We accepted new world order when every piece of land on our planet is conquered. Each of us can evaluate this changes but what is the truth? It is so hard to tell. Maybe the truth is that for our advanced society out world had changed for the better but what African and American native people would say about this topic?Let's take another example - elimination of cash from market circulation. This change applies to the whole world. Again we can look at this twice. First, it is good because transactions will be easier and if someone will steal your wallet, you won't loose your money because they will be on your account. On the other hand, imagine that one hacker masters a server bank. It can lead to the serious consequences. I am not sure if we are ready for this changes. If we are not ready, how we can benefit on this event?Summing up, how we can judge changing of the world when we are in the middle of this process? I think that we can't. We can only evaluate changes in the past and almost always opinions are divided. My opinion is that every progress is good because even if the effect is bad, you learn many important things and maybe next time you will not repeat that mistakes. Today we are better than yesterday; smarter and more experienced, so I think that world is, of course, changing for the better.
